Our small to medium sized dogs

These are our smaller dogs ready for rehoming. All are passported, vaccinated, sterilised and chipped. Please contact us if you would like more information or to meet the dog.

Anita
female
Estimated date of birth 02/07/22. Anita arrived very underweight, but friendly with people and all other dogs. She's a very lively, typical puppy, eager to learn, who would benefit from some basic training. She will walk on a lead with a calm , sensible dog walker. Is confident mixing with other dogs, but can be shy on her own. Anita weighs 13.2kg and measures 49cm to the shoulder, she will be spayed before adoption and has tested negative to the common Mediterranean diseases.

Flora (local adoption only)
female
Flora is estimated to be born 20.8.2011 and arrived in poor condition with Perla. She is a medium cross breed weighing 18.5kg. She is very friendly and also obsessed with food. She is energetic for her age and walks ok but would benefit from more training. She has tested positive for leishmaniosis and has also has seizures in the past. She is currently on medication for this. She has a strong hunting instinct but gets on well with other dogs

Isidora

Isidora was trapped as a part of a group. She is estimated to be born 6.2.20, weighs 8.1kg and is 39cm in height. She is a small podenca timid but sweet. She gets on fine with other dogs but is currently not lead trained. She has tested positive for leishmaniosis. A friendly little girl who will get more confident with training

Lena
female
Lena is estimated to have been born 01/02/2021. She currently weighs 16kg and measures approx 52cm at the shoulder. Lena tested positive for Leishmania, she was successfully treated with Glucantime and the disease has been brought under control. She tested negative for the other Mediterranean diseases. Trapped by Victoria of SOS Rescue in 2023. Lena had been living on the streets for at least 2 years. She was trapped with 4 pups. No rescue place was found and they were moved around between residencias. Lena is friendly but a little reserved with strangers, she has made good progress since living at the current residencia. She is a calmer/gentle dog in general. She is good with all dogs.Lena has started lead training. She needs more practice but she has become calmer when walking. Lena has been spayed.

Lily

Lily was born 20.5.2014 and is a small podenca. She was handed in by a German lady who was returning to Germany. She is super sweet with people and tends to prefer women but with other dogs she can be aggressive. For this reason she is best suited to a single dog home. She has had an operation on her right hind leg and has spent much time in a cage since. She walks very nicely on the lead and is not scared of traffic. She can be a bit timid to start with and we suspect she may have been hit in the past

Linx

Linx was rescued along with two other dogs. He was born 25.5.2019 and weighs 17.1kg. He is a medium crossbreed who is 47cm in height. He is friendly with people he knows but is still a bit insecure and will growl if worried. He is best suited to experienced owners who can help him get more confident. He has tested positive for leishmaniosis

Malcolm

Estimated D.O.B 06/02/21. Malcolm mixes well with female dogs, but does not get on with other males. He is friendly with people, but wary of sudden movements. Will walk on a slip lead but currently does not like the harness. He is a typical, passionate hunting dog. He tested leish positive on arrival, and has been treated with allopurinol, his results have now improved, he has no symptoms and has not needed any additional treatment

Nala

Nalais estimated to be born 20.6.20 and was trapped along with 3 pups. She weighs 15.8kg and is 48cm in height. She is a medium cross breed with a rough coat. She is doing well living with a mixed group but would be best suited to living with a dog of similar size as she can bully. She has started lead training but does not like putting harness on. She is suited to an experienced home

Wolfie
male
Wolfie is estimated to be born August 2016. He was found in a very bad state and completely wild. He is getting tamer and lives happily with a females. He weighs 12.8kg and is 42cm in height. He is a small white podenco with a docked tail. He has demonstrated fear related aggression in the past and still needs time spent with him but is friendly once he knows people. He is affectionate and easy to handle. He has demonstrated food related aggression and needs to be fed separately. He would also need a secure garden and would be best suited to a calm experienced home or foster with no children. He does still have problems walking and can just stop but with work he will get back to walking normally. He seems to get on well with other dogs and has turned into a sweet boy
