Cally was recently rescued from the local pound, where she didn't even have a name, just a number Ca26RV. The volunteers at the refuge named her Cally Her date of birth is given as 01/04/2022 She has now been spayed and had her teeth cleaned at the same time Cally weighs 16kg, and measures 52cm at the shoulder She is friendly with people and dogs (although maybe good to avoid a home with dominant females) she currently lives with Duna and Plácido with no problems Cally walks on a lead and not bothered about traffic etc although she can pull, but not constantly, so this would benefit from basic training. She has tested Leish positive, and takes allopurinol as a precaution Cally needs a large, secure garden

Duna is a spayed female podenco, ex hunting dog. She was born 19/09/2020. Duna weighs approximately 16kg and has tested positive to Leishmania. She currently takes allopurinol as a precaution, as the leish is inactive. Luna is playful and nice with other dogs. She is friendly to people after a few minutes.

Flora is estimated to be born 20.8.2011 and arrived in poor condition with Perla. She is a medium cross breed weighing 18.5kg. She is very friendly and also obsessed with food. She is energetic for her age and walks ok but would benefit from more training. She has tested positive for leishmaniosis and has also has seizures in the past. She is currently on medication for this. She has a strong hunting instinct but gets on well with other dogs

Lily was born 20.5.2014 and is a small podenca. She was handed in by a German lady who was returning to Germany. She is super sweet with people and tends to prefer women but with other dogs she can be aggressive. For this reason she is best suited to a single dog home. She has had an operation on her right hind leg and has spent much time in a cage since. She walks very nicely on the lead and is not scared of traffic. She can be a bit timid to start with and we suspect she may have been hit in the past

Estimated D.O.B 06/02/21. Malcolm mixes well with female dogs, but does not get on with other males. He is friendly with people, but wary of sudden movements. Will walk on a slip lead but currently does not like the harness. He is a typical, passionate hunting dog. He tested leish positive on arrival, and has been treated with allopurinol, his results have now improved, he has no symptoms and has not needed any additional treatment

Nala is estimated to be born 20.6.20 and was trapped along with 3 pups. She weighs 15.8kg and is 48cm in height. She is a medium cross breed with a rough coat. She is doing well living with a mixed group but would be best suited to living with a dog of similar size as she can bully. She has started lead training but does not like putting harness on. She is suited to an experienced home

Snow, male, neutered. Estimated date of birth 09/09/2024. Weight 12kg Came from a woman who had been feeding him in the campo for a while she eventually caught him and treated the wound where a collar had embedded deeply into his skin. He also has only half a tail, although this doesn't affect him at all. Shy to start then very playful, loves the houses dogs. Needs to be handled gently when putting harness etc on or he gets a little panicky. Walks on a lead but quite worried by the traffic - hasn't seen much. Leish positive, fairly high serology but inactive, no symptoms - on allopurinol as a precaution. Needs a secure garden

Tropy was estimated as being born 11 Nov 2024 Trapped with what is said to be his sister - according to the feeder. Weight 18.5kg, Negative to all Mediterranean diseases, but does have some dry, flaky skin. Was originally in another in residence for some months, at one point had parvovirus, and recovered completely. His tail has also been cut Friendly and self confident, walks on a lead but hasn't seen much. Needs some basic training asap. Not a beginners dog, will take advantage of incapable handling and has been reactive
